On the Verge
It is 1:44am Eastern Standard Time in Yonkers, NY. This is where I begin recording. I am leaving for Milwaukee in three days, Madrid in seven. I spent most of today shopping for things I need for the trip: I bought more clothes than I’ve ever bought in one day, I’ve got a new euro-bag, and I now own my very own digital camera. Today was probably the biggest day of accomplishment in terms of feeling like I will actually be able to pull off this trip. Granted, there’s plenty more to do, but for awhile it seemed like I would never be ready.
So this will be where I can point friends and family for the regular happenings of the trip, while leaving correspondence more personal. I am hoping that I will be able to keep this up, but we’ll just have to see, won’t we?
In my ideal world, I would have liked to write my own blogging software to handle the back-end for this, but alas, time is of the essence, and WordPress is just so damn good already. It’s all part of my desire to someday write a piece of software that I use everyday… the problem is that I keep realizing that for the most part there are already better programs out there than I could ever write.
Anyways, so, welcome… you’ve gotten a little taste of my plans for this blog and my tendency to the geeky side note. Stick around and I’ll tell you about Spain.
