But my body’s sayin’ no
These last few days have been incredible in a way that I cannot fully respect at the moment because I’m too busy trying to get through them. I would have liked to write in detail about everything that has happened each day since we got here, but they have not given us nearly any free time. I look at the clock now and it’s already 23:30, and I still have to start my homework. I’m glad that I placed into the upper level Spanish class (mostly because it’s at 11:00 and not 8:45), but it’s going to be pretty darn tough. The professor seems nice but she is a little too serious and a stickler for detail, the type who is offended by a misspelled word on the TV news ticker (or so she told us). Also my body has been continuing its campaign to get me to stay in bed for a week or so: head cold, sore throat, stomach negotiations continuing (meal times are nuts here). So expect a full report when they give me free time in which I don’t completely crash. But don’t get me wrong, all is well on the Spanish front. Best to everyone.
P.S. If you are sick of checking this space for as yet mostly non-existent updates, I installed an e-mail update plugin over there on the left, so you can pop in your e-mail address, do the confirmation e-mail dance, and it will e-mail you whenever I post an entry. Not bad, eh?

Spain as an adventure. Though the big picture may seem far too vast to grasp, it is made from bits and pieces which you are in control of, those 11:11 moments. Those parts fit together any way you put them because they are only yours to handle.

Hi Paul!
I am a trained health professional and my expert advice is to RELAX and be gentle with yourself as you adapt to your new world. Well, that and drink plenty of fluids. ;-) I’m hoping you’ll have time for lots of sleep soon. Don’t worry about writing down all the details … being present for them is enough and will allow them to leave their impressions for your reflection later. Be well.
